Suffolk libraries

The first IJYI and Ipswich Library CoderDojo event was a huge success with 22 young people coming along to learn about programming.

The team at Ipswich library put on the event for free and developers from IJYI were on hand to help make it a fun and engaging afternoon. This is the second year running in which IJYI have supported the CoderDojo events, the team are keen to be involved with supporting young people on their journey into the IT sector.

“Our first CoderDojo this year was a busy one, with children (and their adults) having a go at a whole range of projects, from Scratch to Microbits. Hopefully some of them will be applying for jobs at IJYI in a few years’ time!” Dr Julia Hunter, Software Developer.

If you missed the chance to attend this great event there’s still time to book for the 22nd August either direct with the library or through Eventbrite:

CoderDojo 22nd August

These are really fun, friendly events which allow young people to get hands on with coding in a relaxed environment. It’s ideal for children even as young as 7 to come along and be inspired!
